Apr 04, 2016 Runs over most of the major features of Radiologik DJ which can be used for live assist radio or for a full-time automated radio station with lots of features.
- Use Stream Receive to rebroadcast another station in the same manner as rebroadcasting a satellite feed in years past. Stream Receive supports mp3, AAC+ and Vorbis streams. It also supports playing mp3 and m4a files from http or https. Setup a stream profile for each URL. Each stream profile has its own duck, fade duration and publish settings.
- Apr 03, 2015 Updated April 2016 to include BBC local radio streams. The BBC has changed the way it streams a lot of its radio stations on the internet. You can read more about the changes on the BBC Blog. One upshot of this was that none of my many RaspberryPi internet radios would pick up BBC stations any more. Yes, I know I can listen to most of them on DAB, but I like to be able to listen to everything.
Beginning with version 3.5, Audio Hijack included a Broadcast block in its Outputs section, enabling you to send audio to an internet streaming server for global listening. The Broadcast block is perfect for running livecasts of podcast recordings, as well as powering internet radio streams, and live streaming DJ sets.
To get started, just add a Broadcast block to your Session. You'll then be able to stream your audio to an external server. Be sure to see the “Broadcast Block” page of the Audio Hijack manual (found in the app's Help menu) for more details.
Streaming audio services
Using the Broadcast block requires an external streaming server to which listeners can connect. Once you configure Broadcast to send audio out to an external server, listeners will be able to tune in to it to hear your audio.
Technically inclined broadcasters can run a self-hosted Shoutcast or Icecast server. Alternately, you can purchase service from a streaming host. Find a hosting service by searching for “Shoutcast hosting” or “Icecast hosting”.
There are many streaming host services you can use to broadcast. These provided helpful instructions for using their service with Audio Hijack:

Streaming metadata
The Broadcast block can embed metadata into your audio stream, to be shown to listeners when they tune in. For more details on metadata and Audio Hijack, please see the support article entitled “Showing metadata when streaming with Audio Hijack”.

This module acts offers an interface for proxying the raw audio data andparsing the metadata from an SHOUTcast or Icecast broadcast. Theexposed API is offered as a

for compatibility and flexibilitywith Node's other Stream interfaces.Usage
Here's a basic example of just piping the clean audio data to stdout, while printing the HTTP response headers and metadata events to stderr:

The most important use case of this is for HTML5 web apps that listen toradio streams; the

tag doesn't know how to deal with the extrametadata and it is impossible to extract. But a WebSocket connection couldbe used in conjunction with this module to provide those metadata
